We always promise high quality music at Letham Nights. This time, it’s OFF THE SCALE!

Towards the end of 2023, some of the Letham Nights team went to a Glasgow house concert to check out celloist Juliette Lemoine and Friends. We were floored by the performance and by her ‘Friends’ – an extraordinary line up of seriously talented young musicians including Mercury-nominated Fergus McCreadie on keys, Matt Carmichael on sax and Chloe Bryce on fiddle.

Trailblazing a path as a cello soloist, Juliette is exploring and redefining the cello’s role within Scottish Traditional Music.

She is set to burst onto the scene with her debut album ‘Soaring’. Her emotive compositions weave through Scottish Traditional, Western Classical, and Jazz genres to create a highly personal new voice.

With an all-star band of some of Scotland’s most exciting young musicians in the unique line-up of cello, fiddle, piano, and tenor saxophone, Juliette’s show will be a euphoric celebration of the theme of freedom.

Mairi Sutherland to open!

Alternate tunings, intricate fingerpicking, and rich harmonies, create an immersive soundscape and every note carries a message, whether profound or playful.

As a solo performer, Mairi has graced prestigious stages, including Dougie MacLean’s Perthshire Amber Festival and Glastonbury Festival, using only her voice and her guitar-playing to captivate the audience.

House concerts are the gift that keep on giving! This time it was Dunkeld. A young singer stepped up to do a couple of numbers and WOW! The audience erupted when Mairi Sutherland finished and the main performers (Hannah Fisher and Sorren McLean no less!) commented ruefully, how do we follow that?! We can’t wait to introduce her on our village hall stage – you will be blown away!

Mairi Sutherland is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, illustrator and animator with a unique blend of musical and visual storytelling. Think Laura Marling, Nick Drake, The Fleet Foxes. She crafts ethereal and haunting songs that embark on captivating journeys of emotion and imagination.

Letham Nights…

Letham Nights began in December 2008.  Our vision is to bring high quality music to our village hall and provide a stage for talent, both local and global.  At the same time we want to promote sustainability and work towards creating a zero carbon village hall. 14 years and over 100 acts later, we have drawn in an audience which now averages 100 in our 120-capacity hall.  We have supported hall improvements so that we now have double glazing, better insulation, renewed wiring and a new efficient boiler.  The events are renowned for their high quality music and the unique, warm and friendly atmosphere.  We really do put on THE BEST SMALL GIGS IN THE WORLD!
