Sometimes the music we need just appears right under our nose – or more exactly, into our ears, from not very far away.

This show is not only our first headline classical recital but also the first for a musician from Letham itself. Eva Lundell is a very popular local music teacher in Letham and across Fife but also a consummate classical violinist & performer in her own right.

This April, Eva returns to Brooklyn to rehearse the repertoire for the evening with her close musical partner & pianist, Keiko Asakawa-Golden. Eva and Keiko are 2/3 of a longstanding ensemble The Savane Trio who came together in Illinois in the mid-90’s and have been playing together on and off ever since. Along with their friend Jacqueline Black, cellist, the trio kicked off their collaboration with a Japanese tour in 1995, followed by recitals and competitions in the Great Lakes region, California, and the Southwest US including a year-long residency in Arizona as part of Chamber Music America’s rural residencies program.

In June, Keiko will join Eva in Scotland on a mini-tour with Letham Nights an unmissable stop on their musical journey.

Each piece in the repertoire will explore and celebrate a personal connection for one or both of the players.

Join us to welcome them both to our village hall stage and enjoy the performance!

Letham Nights…

Letham Nights began in December 2008.  Our vision is to bring high quality music to our village hall and provide a stage for talent, both local and global.  At the same time we want to promote sustainability and work towards creating a zero carbon village hall. 14 years and over 100 acts later, we have drawn in an audience which now averages 100 in our 120-capacity hall.  We have supported hall improvements so that we now have double glazing, better insulation, renewed wiring and a new efficient boiler.  The events are renowned for their high quality music and the unique, warm and friendly atmosphere.  We really do put on THE BEST SMALL GIGS IN THE WORLD!
